1.Information we collect
Account information: name, email address, password (stored in hashed form), and optionally phone number and mailing address.
Case content you provide: drafts, statements, timelines, uploaded documents, and notes you enter into the tools. This may include sensitive details about your employment and the people involved.
Payment information: handled by our payment processor. We receive confirmation, the last four digits, and billing details, but not your full card number.
Usage and device data: pages viewed, features used, approximate location from IP address, browser and device type, and error logs.
Communications: messages you send to support and your email preferences.
2.How we use information
To provide and personalize the Service (including saving your drafts and sending deadline reminders you request); to process payments; to respond to support requests; to secure the Service and prevent fraud and abuse; to understand and improve how the Service is used; to send service notices and, with your permission, product updates; and to comply with legal obligations. We do not use Your Content for advertising.
3.How we share information
We do not sell your personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only with: service providers who work under contract to host data, process payments, send email, and provide analytics and support; professional advisers and authorities when required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights and safety; and a successor in a merger or sale, with notice to you. You control any document you choose to send to the EEOC or a court, and anything you file with them may become part of a public or agency record under their rules.
4.Cookies and similar technologies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and secure, and, where allowed, analytics cookies to measure use. You can control cookies in your browser; blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the Service from working. [If you use advertising or tracking tools, list them and describe opt-out choices.]
5.Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls, and other safeguards suited to the sensitivity of the data. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and avoid uploading information you do not need. If a breach affects you, we will notify you as the law requires.
6.Retention
We keep your information while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify Your Content within [30–90] days, except where we must keep records for legal, tax, or security reasons or in backups that are overwritten on a regular cycle.
7.Your choices and rights
You can access, correct, download, or delete your information in your account settings or by emailing us. Depending on where you live (for example, California and other states with privacy laws), you may also have the right to know what we collect, request deletion or correction, opt out of sale or sharing (we do neither), limit use of sensitive information, and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To make a request, contact us below. We may need to verify your identity, and you may use an authorized agent. If we decline a request, you may appeal by replying to our response. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time.
8.Sensitive information and health data
Your case may involve health, disability, or other sensitive details. Share only what you need. The Service is not designed to store other people’s protected health information. Please remove or black out patient names, room numbers, record numbers, and Social Security numbers before uploading. We are not a healthcare provider or HIPAA covered entity.
9.Children
The Service is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children, and we will delete it if we learn we have.
10.Changes and contact
We will post updates here and change the date at the top. If changes are material, we will notify you in advance. Civil Suit Assist and FairFile Pro Se are educational tools, not legal services.
